인제대학교 심혈관·대사질환 핵심연구지원센터(이하 심혈관대사센터)와 AI/디지털트윈기반 심장영상분석, 진단 선도기업인 에이아이메딕(AIMEDIC)은 심혈관 및 대사질환 연구개발 협력을 위해 2025년 1월 7일 센터에서 양해각서(MOU)를 체결하였다. 이번 협약은 인제대의 글로컬대학 이니셔티브의 일환으로 추진되었다. 
이날 협약식에는 심혈관·대사질환 핵심연구지원센터 한진 센터장과 에이아이메딕 심은보 대표가 참석해 MOU에 서명하였으며, MOU에는 공동 연구 프로젝트 추진, 데이터 공유, 핵심 심혈관 질환 해결을 위한 AI/디지털트윈 기반 신기술 개발 등의 협력 프레임워크가 명시되었다. 
이번 파트너십을 통해 심혈관대사센터의 심혈관 연구 전문성과 의료 분야에서 AI기반 딥러닝 및 디지털 트윈 기술에 대한 에이아이메딕의 혁신적인 기술이 결합됨으로써, 과학적 발견을 개선된 환자 치료로 전환하는 과정이 가속화될 것으로 기대된다. 양 기관은 이번 협력이 한국을 넘어 세계적으로 심혈관·대사질환 퇴치에 크게 기여할 것이라는 긍정적인 전망을 내놓았다.

인제대학교 의과대학(학장 최석진)은 일본 준텐도대학교 의과대학과 2024년 10월 30일~11월 1일에 걸쳐 제6차 공동 세미나를 개최하였다. 

 

인제대학교 의과대학에서는 이병두 의약부총장, 최석진 학장, 정순호 교무부학장, 석대현 연구교류부학장, 지기환 의학교육혁신센터장, 손경모 해운대백병원 교수가 참가하였다. 이번 세미나에서는 뇌 질환에 관한 최신 연구 성과를 공유하고, 학술연구 협력과 학생 교류를 논의하였다.


인제대학교 의과대학은 준텐도대학교 의과대학과 2015년부터 학술-학생 교류를 이어오고 있다.

이번 공동 세미나는 Daida Hiroyuki 준텐도대학교 총장의 환영사와 이병두 인제대학교 의약부총장의 축사로 시작되었다. 
첫 번째 세션에서는 뇌 질환 관련 발표가 있었다. 인제의대에서는 손경모 교수, 준텐도의대에서는 Yasunobu Hoshino 교수, Airi Jo-Watanabe 교수가 발표하였다.
두 번째 세션에서는 수면을 주제로 하여 인제의대에서는 지기환 교수, 준텐도의대에서는 Takatoshi Kasai 교수가 발표하였다.

특별 강연에서는 준텐도의대의 Tohru Minamino 교수가 발표하였다.

인제대학교-준텐도대학교는 향후 양 대학 간의 교수 및 학생 교류, 연구 활성화를 위한 지속적인 협력을 이어가기로 합의하였다.

FNCT 바이오텍과 인제의대 이주미 박사 연구팀은 ICAM-1이 삼중음성 유방암에서 EGFR 활성화의 조절자로 작용하며, ICAM-1 중화항체 치료가 유방암 전이를 효과적으로 억제한다는 것을 세계 최초로 규명한 연구 결과를 발표하였다.

 

연구 결과는 암 생물학 분야 최상위 국제학술지인 '분자 암(Molecular Cancer)'(영향력 지수 27.7)에 10월 17일 게재됐다. (논문명: Tumor-intrinsic role of ICAM-1 in driving metastatic progression of triple-negative breast cancer through direct interaction with EGFR)

 

유방암은 우리나라뿐만 아니라 전 세계적으로 여성에게서 발생하는 암 중에서 발병률과 사망률이 가장 높은 암이다. 유방암은 여성호르몬 수용체(에스트로겐, 프로게스테론)와 HER2(사람 표피 성장 인자 수용체)의 상태에 따라 분류된다. 예를 들어, 여성호르몬 수용체가 양성이며 HER2가 음성인 경우는 '루미날 A형(luminal type A)'으로 불리며, 예후가 좋은 편이다. 반면, 에스트로겐, 프로게스테론, HER2 수용체가 모두 없는 경우를 '삼중음성 유방암'이라고 하는데, 전체 유방암 중 약 15%를 차지한다. 이 유형은 표적 치료가 어려워 예후가 좋지 않으며 전이와 재발 위험이 높다.

 

예후가 나쁜 악성 종양일수록 상피 성장 인자 수용체(EGFR)의 발현이 현저히 증가하며, 특히 삼중음성 유방암에서 EGFR의 활성도가 두드러지게 상승하는 것으로 보고되고 있다. EGFR 억제를 통한 암세포의 생존, 증식 및 전이 억제 기전은 광범위하게 연구되어 왔으며, 최근에는 항암요법 및 면역치료와의 병용을 통한 치료 효율을 높이는 시도가 있지만, 이러한 접근법이 치료 반응률 및 생존율 향상에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못하고 있어, 삼중음성 유방암에 대한 표적 치료제 개발이 시급한 과제로 대두되고 있다. 현재까지 표적 치료제 개발의 근간이 되는 분자생물학적 기전 규명이 미흡한 실정이며, 이로 인해 치료제 개발이 지연되고 있는 상황이다.

 

이수재 대표(FNCT 바이오텍)는 이러한 기술적 한계를 극복하고자 암전이 억제인자 규명에 관한 연구를 지속적으로 수행해 온 국내 대표 연구자다. 이 연구에서 “유방암 환자군의 단백질체 및 전사체 프로파일링 분석을 통해 삼중음성 유방암 환자에서 ICAM-1 단백질의 발현이 특이적으로 상향조절됨을 확인하였으며, 이는 유방암 환자의 나쁜 예후를 시사하는 새로운 분자적 지표로서의 가능성을 제시하였다. 더불어, 기존에 알려지지 않은 ICAM-1의 EGFR 직접 제어를 통한 유방암 전이 억제의 새로운 분자 기전을 실험적으로 규명했다. FNCT 바이오텍은 섬유증 및 암을 타겟하는 약물을 개발하는 회사로서, 향후 이러한 결과를 항암제와 항암병용제 개발에 활용할 계획“ 이라고 밝혔다.

 

인제대 의대 이주미 교수는 ”Molecular Cancer 리뷰 과정 중의 시간들이 새삼 새롭게 느껴진다. 리뷰어의 날카로운 질의가 있었고, 이를 설득하기 위한 고민의 시간들이 있었다. 그러나 많은 백업 연구결과가 있어 별다른 추가 실험 없이 받아들여진 것에 매우 만족한다. 본 연구를 통하여 암 발생 과정에서 ICAM-1이 지니는 고유한 새로운 기능을 규명하였으며, 특히 종양 형성에 핵심적 역할을 수행하는 EGFR의 직접적 조절 기전을 처음으로 입증하였다. 나아가 삼중음성 유방암 환자군에서 ICAM-1 매개 EGFR 제어가 유방암 전이 억제에 현저한 치료 효과를 나타냄을 실험적으로 검증한 연구 결과”라고 밝혔다.

 

한국연구재단의 개인기초(중견)연구사업, 원천기술개발사업(바이오의료기술개발사업), 바이오 유망기술 글로벌 창업지원(바이오아이코어)과 중소 벤처기업부의 중소기업기술개발지원사엽(TIPS)의 지원을 받아 수행된 이번 연구의 성과는 국제학술지 'Molecular Cancer’에 게재됐다.

의과대학은 부산백병원, 부산진소방서와 함께 부산백병원 1층 앞마당에서 소방훈련을 실시하였다.


본교는 안전한 캠퍼스를 만들기 위해 정기적으로 자체 소방훈련 및 합동 소방훈련을 실시하고 있으며 올해는 부산백병원과 부산진소방서 합동 소방훈련에 의과대학도 참여하였다.
이번 소방훈련은 진압팀, 피난유도팀, 응급구조팀 등으로 나누어 실전과 유사한 방식으로 진행되었다. 참가자들은 소화기 및 소화전 사용방법, 초기진압 방법, 부상자 응급조치 및 이송, 화재용 방독면 착용법, 완강기 사용법 등 위급 상황에서의 대응 능력을 교육받았다.
한편, 내년에는 의대본동에서도 실전과 같은 소방훈련이 예정되어 있다. 교직원과 학생들의 화재에 대한 경각심을 높이고 위기 대처능력을 향상시켜 화재 발생 시 초기진압으로 피해를 최소화하고, 안전사고를 예방하는 것이 무엇보다도 중요하다.

박권욱 대창단조(주) 부사장이 인제대학교 의과대학에 발전기금 2000만 원을 기탁했다.

2024년 10월 2일(수) 의과대학 학장실에서 열린 발전기금 전달식에는 기부자 박권욱 대창단조(주) 부사장, 최석진 학장, 부산백병원 신경외과 이원희 교수를 비롯한 관계자가 참석했다.

박권욱 기부자님은 ‘어려운 시기에 의대 교수님들과 학교에 도움이 되는 일을 고민하다 발전기금을 기부하게 되었다’며, 의과대학 발전과 학생들을 위한 교육환경 개선을 위해 사용해 달라고 하였다.

최석진 학장은 ‘좋은 의사 양성을 위해 사용하겠다’라며 의대 발전, 교육환경개선을 위한 뜻을 보여주신 데 깊은 감사를 표하고 감사패를 전달했다.

대창단조(주)는 중장비 하체부품 제조사로 김해 대표 중견기업이다. 박권욱 부사장은 김해미래인재장학재단 이사로 활동하면서 지역인재 육성에도 기여하고 있다.
